UK charities and support groups joining forces to raise awareness of limb loss and limb difference.
April is Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month.
It’s time to spread the word about limb loss and limb difference to empower those within our communities. During April we’ll be highlighting the work we do and the people we do it with. We hope this campaign and our presence as a collective will highlight the impact of living with limb loss and limb difference on individuals and their families/support networks.
Why does it matter?
People living with disabilities often face an uphill battle in society. Whether their struggles are emotional or physical, the only way we can begin to work towards an inclusive world is to raise awareness, inform, educate and start a conversation. Our goals include reducing isolation and loneliness whilst increasing self esteem and wellbeing.
Who does it help?
Limb loss and limb difference can affect all ages and backgrounds in a variety of ways. Individuals may be born with limb difference or face amputation later in life through illness or trauma. Our collective works with these individuals everyday, and we want to raise awareness of both the struggles and triumphs of our community.
